DECISION TO REFER SENTENCE OF DELROY CARL MELADY


The Criminal Cases Review Commission has decided to refer the sentence of Delroy Carl Melady to the Court of Appeal.
Mr Melady was sentenced to 315 days imprisonment for Breach of Licence at Nottingham Crown Court on 10 January 2003.

On 1 February 2003 Mr Melady appealed against the sentence. On 3 April 2003 a Single Judge at the Court of Appeal refused the application.

Mr Melady applied to the Commission on 1 March 2004 and after considering a range of factors relating to the calculation of the sentence, the case has been referred back to the Court of Appeal.
