|
The Criminal Cases Review Commission has referred the sentence of Mr K back to the Court of Appeal. Mr K was convicted of conspiracy to supply heroin and given a 26-year sentence.
His appeal was dismissed by the Full Court and he applied to the Commission in December 2002. The Commission is the independent public body set up by Parliament in 1997 to investigate possible miscarriages of justice in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to decide if they should be referred to the appeal courts.
