Commission refers murder convictions of Barry Hillman and Paul Gowans to the Court of Appeal

The Criminal Cases Review Commission has, after receiving information from the Office of the Attorney General, referred the murder convictions of Barry Hillman and Paul Gowans to the Court of Appeal.

On 24 August 2001, Mr Gowans and Mr Hillman were convicted of the murder of Vytautas Jelinskas. These convictions followed from the earlier convictions of Messrs Hillman and Gowans for causing grievous bodily harm to Mr Jelinskas during a robbery in January 2000.
