The Criminal Cases Review Commission is the independent public body set up to investigate possible miscarriages of justice in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Commission assesses whether convictions or sentences should be referred to a court of appeal.

	Application Form Anyone who wishes to have a case reviewed can write to the Commission about it, or fill in an application form. The form provides a step by step guide to the information the Commission needs to start reviewing a case as soon as possible. It has been awarded the Plain English Campaign's Crystal Mark.

	Audio Tape An eight minute audio tape introduces the Commission. It is particularly useful for people with literacy problems, and those currently in custody with limited access to video facilities. The tape features interviews with two successful applicants, John Kamara and Deborah Henry, and one of the Commission's Legal Advisers, John Wagstaff, explains key points about the Commission's work.

	Video A fifteen minute video, entitled 'Open To Question', introduces the Commission to potential applicants, the legal profession, and other bodies and individuals working in the criminal justice system. The video sets out the Commission's investigative powers, explains when it can and can't review a case, gives the key points the Commission needs to know about an application, describes how a case is reviewed, and provides advice on finding a solicitor.
